Hello there! I am a Certified School Counselor and LPC-Associate. I worked as a Special Education teacher for many years before becoming a School Counselor in AISD. I have experience helping youth increase their capabilities socially, emotionally and academically. I help children learn healthy coping strategies to navigate everyday life, including challenges they may face at school. I help navigate big feelings with emotional regulation strategies, play therapy techniques, and art making.

In my work as a therapist, I believe in the power of mindfulness, self-compassion, and empowerment as pathways to healing and growth. My approach is person-centered and strength-based, honoring each individual’s unique story and inner resilience. I strive to create a supportive and non-judgmental space where clients feel seen, heard, and valued.

Drawing from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), I help clients develop practical skills for managing emotions, improving relationships, and creating more balanced, values-driven lives. DBT’s focus on committed action empowers clients to take control of their emotional and behavioral responses, fostering confidence and lasting change.

 

I also integrate creative and reflective practices to support self-expression, insight, and healing. These approaches invite curiosity and compassion toward one’s inner experience, deepening self-awareness and growth.

At the heart of my work is helping clients embrace radical acceptance and reconnect with their strengths, so they can live with greater authenticity, balance, and self-compassion.

 

 I feel passionate about supporting parents and caregivers who may struggle with their child’s behavior at home or at school. I specialize in responsive parenting style. I am also a mother of two and a native midwesterner. I am an animal lover, book reader, nature enthusiast, and vinyl record collector.
